Why has the conversation shifted to BLM? Did something happen in the primary?

It was black women who started the movement. It should be a black woman to lead it

All things considered, I think the movement could benefit more from a father.

The ignorance in the last couple of pages is shocking. I'd expect it from Bernie and Trump supporters, but not Hillary supporters.

...and a better strategy.
Riots don't work in 2016
I liked how UMissouri handled their situation. Boycotting college football for a weekend was 100X more effective than back to back demos
(On another note, blacks can't keep fighting everyone else's battles. Where were the latinos and the Muslims in Chicago last night?)

I think the peaceful protests are legitimate and are achieving a political aim. The violence that sparked is unfortunate, but can we really blame Bernie supporters/the protesters (since not all the protesters are Bernie supporters) ? Honestly, don't have all the facts, but aren't Trump supporters also responsible for violence?

She's being pushed more to the left that many of the Democratic base is clearly going. And she's facing tough, but effective criticism. Imagine her going into the GE very cocky. Bernie has brought her ego down a bit, and I think it's good for her when she gets hammered by Bernie.
Obama v Hillary was far more brutal, and look where we are today. BernieBots would love you to believe he's damaging her to no point of return.

You know that won't happen. Save yourself the trouble and get on the winning team.

A BLM protestor (who's a Bernie supporter) posted a video shooting a gun saying he was on the way to a Trump rally.

What's ignorant? People shooting guns thinking that's going to change the minds of racists and bigots? No. That's ignorant.

100% on all counts. UM got the President to resign because the football players boycotting would've resulted in a LOT of lost money. A plan and a tangible goal.
And black folks are always inclusive of everyone, perhaps to our detriment, because it's never reciprocated.

I got to talking to a coworker of mine and we were talking about the upcoming primary and who we were voting for. She was a little older, probably early to late 50s, and was asking me for advice. She was torn between Hillary, Bernie, and ****ing Cruz.

Of course. But what will these protests accomplish? Nothing. Trump isn't going to drop out or change his rhetoric. It just confirms the fears of the type of person who supports Trump (not saying that's right, but it is what it is).

I cringed. BLM is not a violent movement. They can't help it when someone shoots someone. The essence of the movement is peace. Their goal is to strategically implement real changes in the US judicial system, as well as tackle the systematic racism that many businesses are founded on. Many have met with Hillary Clinton in a meeting to discuss their feelings and what they want to do about it. The mere term Black Lives Matter, serves to improve the esteem of many young black Americans who currently feel worthless, due to police brutality and the pipeline of school to prison.
It's almost just as bad as branding all Muslims' terrorists just because of a select few. That's not how it works.
It's not perfect, no. But to even attempt to portray it as some sort of terrorist organisation is truly ignorant and disgusting. The integral members of BLM are working hard everyday, meeting high positioned people in order to try and bring change to what is a very corrupt system you have in America.
Hillary would agree.

No one said BLM was a "terrorist organization". We said some of the tactics of the members are making a bad name for it, and not doing anything to bring change. Shooting guns, threatening to go to a Trump rally? That's a problem, and there are more cases of stuff like that. Beating cops, good ones at that.... It's bad.
"Some" seems to be ignored in here a lot. Especially when we talk about supporters of the candidates.

I talked her into voting either Hillary or Bernie, one thing was for sure, she said she was never going to be voting for Trump. Hm..

Maybe you should make that a little more clear in your prior posts. There's an edit button for you to do just that.

We all agreed that it is great in concept but it's implemented horribly due to lack of organization, which is a huge issue with it as a movement. Any radical can use their hashtag and then they represent the entire movement. That is a problem, regardless of how you feel about it.
At the end of the day, I would feel the exact same way as you if I ignored the crazies that get associated with the movement's message if it weren't for the insane visit Patrisse Cullors had on my campus. The way she spoke simply turned me off and I was not the only person, both white or otherwise, to be miffed by the way she represented the organization. And she's the co-founder.

You can choose not to support BLM if you don't want to. Black people really try to pressure other blacks to support it. If they don't see it as good, then they can do just that. It's when they ignore the reason for the movement in the first place that's the problem. (like many Republicans do)
