I mean, that is true. The sociology of genocide is a fascinating thing. Literally thousands upon thousands of people were complicit in what took place and I'm sure most of them considered themselves reasonable people. It's foolish to believe that all people who think they're above committing such acts (or standing idly by while they happened) wouldn't let it happen again under certain circumstances.

I will probably try to find some Germans or other Europeans who would be willing to hide my ass until it was over.

Considering I'm gay, I would've been killed or put into the camps myself, so I don't know how much I really would've been able to do.

If I somehow managed to escape notice, I would've tried to leave Europe while taking as many people with me as I could.

I'd rather die as a good man than live as a monster so I would have tried and be a member of the resistance (hide jews in my house, sabotage etc). But you never know, it's a difficult question.

Governments are so responsible for this tho it's disgusting. Like literally every country knew what was happening but they closed their eyes because:
1. they wanted Hitler to like them (**** u Pétain!!)
2. Were pieces of **** themselves
3. They didn't want to get involved in the war if they weren't threatened (hi USA).

EDIT: I don't think people knew that as a whole they could go against the government at that time. Members from the resitance knew and tried but a lot of them got killed, tortured etc. Damn I hate that era so much, i'm so tired of hearing about it. it's just show how ****ed up we are.

EDIT: a lot of people actually thought this was the solution to their problems that's why they helped. Like kill all the jews so the economy will rise , the brainwashing was real.
