This just makes her politics even crazier because if she had that urging since back then and has been suffering in silence since, she knows she could not have gone public with her revelation back then because society was not that liberal and openminded in the Republican 80s (or the early-mid 2000s). Part of the reason she can be oh so accepted now, gets tons of media and celebrity support, and be free about who she is and not have to worry about backlash or career suicide is because of the progressive cultural wave we are in now-partly because of who we have as President. Whenever a Republican gets 8 years, the country goes back to getting a ultra-conservative upswing. It is kinda crazy that is what she wants
