Imperfect people shouldn't be forced to cave in and hide from the world, though. It's not as much about promotion, as about visibility. The reason people get fatter and fatter is usually because they have mental issues (like eating disorders etc.), and making them feel secluded is doing exactly the opposite of helping. I'm saying all this as a person who leads a healthy lifestyle & excercises, but also as a former bulimic. The moment I realized I wasn't the only one feeling/looking this way, I was able to stop doing myself harm and get out of my bubble. The increased inclusion of plus size models helped. That's how I got to a healthy shape.
Besides, the photo is not even ugly. It's a nice piece of photographic work in which the photographer really well used the form of model's body. Don't you think the photographers deserve a bit more to their job than only same-looking skinny white models? As an artist, I'd die of ****ing boredom.
