The last birthday i had months ago, i was a little depressed, another year older and i thought id be excited about my birthday coming up, Im not old im in my early 20's i think maybe the depression comes from knowing i dont want to grow up and out of the things that i like. :/

i experience this EVERY birthday.

i don't like the feeling of getting older, being an adult scares me.

also, i never really get to do what i want to do on my birthday because my friends are always full of excuses and that makes me sad.

Sometimes I feel sad on my birthday because it doesn't feel as exciting as it did when I was a child. When I don't have anything to do on my birthday it feels super depressing. The last time I felt upset over the age I was turning was when I turned 20 because I was no longer a teen. But after that I've been fine tbh, the next time I feel that way will probably be when I turn 30 so I got a ways to go

Yeah, I was a little down about turning 20. But I'm excited about where adulthood takes me, so I wouldn't say I was depressed about turning older. Just, thinking being younger is easier.

Yeah, but I don't think about corny **** like "1 year closer to death"

I'm sad on every birthday. I get older and closer to death.

as if everyday your not getting closer to death & getting older

This happens with everyone.

I kinda needed it, I wasnt aware it happened to everyone and felt lonely, thanks to you guys sharing what goes on in your hearts during birthday sadness i can see how different and unqiue everyones depression is on this type of thing, and i can really appreciate that.

hopefully this thread will help a quest someday dealing with feeling sad on their birthday.

I get sad thinking that people my age are more successful and got their life figured out compared to me.

Mess I don't think this has ever happened to me.

My birthday is in 19 days and I'm already sad about it I'm only going to be 19 but I feel like I completely wasted 17 and 18 and I'm not ready to be 19 yet.

But on my Bday I celebrate a full year closer to my final days. It's depressing.
