Tinashe talks about "Joyride" delay
Quote:
Q: Did you hope that "Joyride" would be out by the time this tour started?
A: Initially, when the tour was booked, it was with the intention of the album being out at this point. Delays happen all the time. I don't think it's very surprising in the music industry to have an album release pushed back. I've decided to change my attitude, as far as touring is concerned, and look at it more as a chance to promote the album and get people excited and play the new music and reconnect with my fans. Obviously, when the album does come out, I hope to do more shows and another leg of the tour, to continue to build and grow.

Can she please purposely flop so she can get dropped by her label and sign to a better one? At this point, Azealia Banks's spring and summer mix tapes have a higher chance of getting released on time than Joyride.

what is she going to do though, drop songs on soundcloud until something sticks? the way they're approaching this era seems so unprofessional, I'm not pleased.

It's kind of her fault for rushing the release of the lead single.

At least she's staying optimistic, but I knew it was looking bad after another month of silence. Hopefully they can shoot for mid April.

I don't think there's anything wrong with her logic... the tour got me excited about Joyride again. Plus, it's a way for her to gain more fans and interest

listen, at this point I'd rather wait for her to finish the tour, pick a new STRONG song as the lead single and restart the era late spring.
I want her to PLAN things this time, stop dropping songs on ****ing SoundCloud, visit radio stations, do every little gig that helps you get some spins and then drop the single, I don't want her to keep releasing material that's so sub par, because all that does is kill the hype.

she needs to be realistic about the direction this album campaign is going in, if she insisted on this messy ass rollout of haphazard singles, she's going to get haphazard results. Joyride, even since 'Player' and all this damn talk about 'pop sound', has always seemed like it was destined to be an R&B era, and if that's what it's going to sound like, she needs to get real.
she's not about to garner a huge, loyal, pop based fan base from an album like that. maybe she just needs to keep establishing herself as an R&B act (and the best one at that) and then take a full swing at moving over to pop, cause this half stepping **** is getting her no where

It's not like RCA has done much for Player or All My Friends though. If she didn't dropped Party Favours, we probably would have gotten Player a little later and not much other things would have been different than now

there is no indication when the album is coming out, at all

Y'all acting like its her fault lol its her crappy label that doesn't want it out yet. She should leak it like angel haze did and get the label to force release it

I don't disagree with you at all... I was just saying that a tour doesn't hurt her in any way. If she's in album limbo than why not?

That won't help her, I could see RCA just don't giving any f, just release the song that gets the most response and let her record new songs on the road.
