So I bought a 4K 40 inch Samsung tv based on the suggestions from some fellow ATRL's a few weeks ago. I had got a tracking number and requested (NO SIGNATURE ON PICK UP)
I called USPS a week before and said based on this info... DO I need a SIG? They said everything would be fine and it would be dropped off without me writing it off.
Yesterday I got a pink notice saying ' SORRY WE MISSED YOUR PACKAGE, you can pick up your package at the post office" So I go ok...
So today I walked in the post office and showed the lady the slip... she goes its still in sorting...... I go okay but why did usps tell me I did not need a sig,.... She goes " We never said that" I go
" Are you calling me a Liar" I said ' I CALLED USPS AND THEY TOLD ME BASED ON THE INFO I GAVE THEM THEY DONT NEED A SIG" then she said .........................................
She goes the package is still in sorting its 2 early.......... I go............
OK FINE BUT WILL I GET MY PACKAGE AND WHEN AM I GETTING IT
She goes" I Dont know if you are going to get your package??? Maybe tomorrow..
Then she starting yelling louder " I DONT KNOW WHERE YOUR PACKAGE IS IT IS PROB IN SORTING"
SO now I am calling the 1800 usps number to talk to her manager
That isn't illegal it's up to the driver's discretion on whether they need a signature or not, even if it doesn't say a signature is required, if there's a giant ass package that they feel would be dangerous to leave out in the open, they can do that. Usually on the slip there's a part where you can sign and leave it on your door giving them permission to leave it, so...
And if it's in sorting they can't just go find it either, that's like finding a needle in a haystack.

I just spoke to the Supervisor at usps and they said they indeed Dropped the ball, and the man said they did not even fill the slip out correctly and said they are in trouble. It is never up to the driver wether i needs a sig or not. Its up to the purchaser of the item to tell usps or fedex or whoever wether or not you want a sig.
He said in his own words" We dropped the ball we are sorry"
I'd wait there til they got their **** sorted to be honest.

Why would you wanna leave a 4K television unattended anyway? That supervisor likely told you what you wanted to hear as well. It's definitely up to the delivery guy whether or not its safe to leave a package at your door. Especially at that size and cost.
