Yes, the gypsy community in here is an important part of our society, just like the black community is to the states. I've had gypsy classmates and I think one of my aunts is gypsy too.
A few years ago, at the town festival, a gypsy woman, maybe in her sixties, approached me and told me to buy her a rose for my gilfriend. I told her that I appreciated it but no thanks, but she insisted for some good 10 minutes. Then she yelled that she was conjuring a spell on my and beloved ones and I told her that the only money I had left that night was the one I was going to use to take the train home and that she would have to trick someone else. But she didn't stop throwing her quick lil tantrum and kept following me around until I left. She even accused me of being racist in front of other gypsies so I would get into a fight. Her shady ass. She tried me that night.
Yeah, there's a gypsy community near where I live, and there was a big thing because the council was trying to tear down their community. I went to school with a gypsy, she was nice.

not her threatening you with a spell for not buying from her
Yes. Everybody hates them here in Italy. They got kicked out of my town in 2002. They don't work, they don't send their children to school, and they mainly make a living off stealing from homes.

How? Black Americans were brought to the new world against their will and contributed to the agriculture/manufacturing that helped make the USA one of the most fastest advancing countries. They also contributed to contemporary arts and music. How do the contributions from roma people/gypsies equate to african americans?

Fashion/art/folk music/literature/dance/food/culture. Not as financially important as blacks are the development of the US, but the Romani certainly had an important role in Europe's cultural development over history despite always being thrown under the bush and discredited for their contributions.
