I'm really getting annoyed and starting to hate/boycott Apple products.
I have a newer generation iPod Touch 64gb and am starting to have tons of issues. The first issue was I would drag songs onto my iPod and it would never highlight and have that dotted circle and NEVER sync. So I had to erase my iPod and put it back from factory settings.
Now another issue arises. Apparently if an album has the "album is part of a compilation by various artists," checked, it doesn't show on your iPod *^ under "Artists". My iPod only has "Music" and "Playlist" tabs on the bottom, so I don't understand Apple's innovative move by having this not show up.
So I'm having to re-rip all my CDS again making sure that isn't checked/clicked. But yet again, why does it matter? When my iPod is connected the files are clearly there. They show. When I dig into the "Get Info" settings and make it look 100% A-OK, it still doesn't show. Yet when I make a new CD rip (without the check) it works just fine.
I've had an iPod classic for a decade now almost and I've never had an issue like this before. Looking into it now, they discontinued a product THAT works for a product that DOESN'T work. Apple is ****** and I really don't like them.
I wish they could release a patch to resolve this problem, but it probably won't happen. I even found a page on the issue, but nothing seems to fix it..

Sorry about the snap chat screen shot, but as you can see I put "Coldplay" on for example. It shows up as in recently added, so it's "on" my iPod, but it's non-existent when it comes to the artists. It's driving me insane on how to resolve this and I want to chuck every Apple product at the wall
Samsung should make iPods. Apple sucks.

I did do that. I went ON my iPod, edited the GET INFO within the albums that wouldn't work and it still wouldn't resolve it. Is it because the newer generation iPod is like a computer now and it knows when you ripped the CD it's forever embedded into the file regardless GET INFO changes?
I tested this theory out because I would re-rip the CD and change info and it worked fine (without having that "compilation" checked).
Can you e-mail Apple? Can they release a patch for this? The ONLY way to make these albums show on your iPod is by adding them to a playlist, but that's annoying! I want it IN my artists. It's not organized then

Also there is no TABS on the bottom for Songs/Albums, etc. Just " My Music" and "Playlists."
So HOW the HELL do you listen to your compilation CDS? What was Apple thinking with this move?

Departure, I would highly recommend you to call AppleCare Support. If you call them, they will offer Screen Sharing (if necessary) and will teach you through.

Where it says 'Songs', if you press it, you will have double options!

My iPod doesn't have that option Just "Artists" under the "My Music" tab that's default when you open your music.

This is more of a software issue that needs a patch. The fact the Apple support page, I provided above, was dated from 2011 and it's now 2016 shows Apple doesn't give two sh**s about their customers.
Why isn't it patched yet? WHY? If it was Sony and a lot of people complained/dealt with this issue, they would've released a statement saying they were working on a patch to fix this issue.
Apple sucks horrible and I will never own an iPhone in this lifetime.

The simple solution is to stop buying and listening to compilation albums.
But if you simply must listen to confusing music, call Apple Support. They're the best.

Troye Sivan and Coldplay aren't compilation albums though
I'm assuming iTunes automatically checks albums as a compilation if an artist has a feature artist on their album. So really? Nice try. This is more of an Apple issue. If all tagged right, it should be ready to go, but clearly there is a software problem that resides within Apple's manufacturing of the iPod.
Like I said, Apple doesn't care about their customers. After 5 years, this should be resolved.
And it's not really confusing either. It goes on my iPod classic just FINE. But my battery life on that is ****** that I use my Touch as a back-up. Maybe I'll just make a ****** playlist of all the idiotic albums that don't show on Shittple's touch just so they show up on it...

I am 100% that issue is resolved. If you call AppleCare, they may send it to the engineers if there's no solution but I am quite sure they fixed it because that would make no sense. They're open from 8am to 8pm. Give it a go.

Well I did finally find a way to show more than just Artists
Clicking on the "Artists" pink line brings up a new tab with "Albums, Songs, Composers, Compilations, etc" options.
Just seems like a lot of extra work when it really shouldn't be if it's all tagged right. I was told by my cousin's girlfriend Samsung makes phones with 120gb, so I might just look into that and use my phone as a resource for music.

I'm not entirely sure I know what the issue is with the ipod, but ff you are having an issue with compilation albums not showing up, you can change how you view your music on the device.
If you click Artists
you can change to view your music by Albums, Songs, Compilations, etc.
If that doesn't make things work for you and If you are having an issue with iTunes always categorizing everything as a compilation by various artists (it does this when there is a featured artist I think). You can either hit "Get Info" on the track in iTunes and move the featured artist from the artist field, to the song field
Ex. from

to
or you can select "Get Info" for the whole album and uncheck the "this album is a compilation of songs by various artists"
I hate when iTunes does this. It's so annoying; but you shouldn't need to add the CDs back to your library.. Either fixing the featured artists on the album or unchecking the compilation button should help.
Hope I was able to help.

The problem is these albums are NOT compilations though Troye Sivan's debut album is HIS album. iTunes, apparently, checked it as one BEFORE I ripped it unknowingly because he has artists featured on it.
But also, this doesn't work for every case. Charlie Puth's album went on my iPod just fine, even though he has Megan Trainor and Selena Gomez featured on his album. I can even look into this quick to see.
The fact you can play around with the tags all day and it still won't show up under "Artists" is very frustrating. I hope this makes sense. I don't want to go into a new tab, just to find two of Coldplay albums when his other 6 are under artist. Why should two be categorized under compilations?
"Hey I want to listen to Ghost Stories."
"Ok that's under Coldplay with his other 5 "
"Now I want to listen to A Head Full Of Dreams!!!"
"Oh hold on, I have to go on a scavenger hunt for this album as it's not under the artists name."
***edit****
Looking into Charlie Puth's debut album, it was NOT checked when I ripped it. But in Coldplay's and Troye's case, it was checked. Why?

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. You shouldn't need to open a new tab or anything, or change your view to see the album you want to play.
I know they aren't compilations, but iTunes seems to see an album with featured artists as a compilation sometimes and mark it as by "various artists." I don't know why. I've had this happen before many times.
Like I said, usually when you fix the features on the albums and uncheck compilations in your iTunes, and then resync your ipod, it fixes the problem, and shows up on your ipod like it should. So, my recommendation would be to go to your iTunes for A Head Full of Dreams, change the info for Fun by removing the Tove Lo feature from the Artist field (if its there) to the song field and uncheck the compilation button, and then sync your ipod to see if that fixes your problem.
If it doesn't work, you can always change the data back and contact Apple like Pedro suggested. Good luck.
