I mean, looking at these recent smartphone announcements, I'm amazed at the amount of "innovative" technology that LG, Samsung, and Apple have announced that was done first by King Nokia.

Nokia phones had always-on displays far before anyone else with their flawless "Glance" feature.
They introduced moving photos (photos with short glimpses of video) back in 2013, before Apple and Samsung did it.

They put a focus on brighter lenses and bigger pixels back when they launched Pureview in 2012. The Lumia 920/925 are low light masters

The others struggled to keep up. It's too bad Nokia is gone now.

They are iconic and severely underrated nowadays

Nokia was amazing. Creative and innovative designs (N-Gage/N series and the Fashion phone anyone?) and ahead of its time technology.

Idk but they've always had great hardware. They had OIS on their cameras like half a decade ago, it's crazy. And the low light stuff, etc.
Too bad the apps suck and even if you wanted one, getting them in the US is impossible. Not seen any in an AT&T store in years!

I never liked Nokia and their SMARTphones were always inferior and steps behind, they deserved their total flop.

They purchased the entire 5G technology and now have all patents to it. They're going to be the most powerful phone company again. They are also going to be making new smartphones by the end of 2016.

This. They were the first ones to have a touchscreen phone before it was cool. Poor iPhone.
They kinda doomed themselves for not going the android route, not to mention their low spec hardware.

I predict a comeback come 2017.

In 2013 Nokia sent me a 920 to trial. It was flawless in hardware, the camera was amazing at the time and those moving pictures were pretty funny too the only thing that let it done was Windows Phone 8

Actually the low spec hardware helpt them to stay relevant in developing countries such as India where the bottom end Lumias and cheap Nokia phones dominate

The ringtone alone is more iconic than most phone brands

I know, I'm talking about their pre-windows phones that ran symbian(C series/X series/E series). That was when the downhill started. They were amazing(even in this time they can keep up with low budgets smartphones) but they didn't caught the public because Symbian was dated.

I'm a proud owner of a Nokia Lumua930, still giving current phones a run for their money two years on!
