Well, Mark did just have one of the biggest hits of the past year that won a Grammy. So there's a chance they'll wait and see what comes of that. As you said we can't really call anything right now.
I really don't see why they would wait until the end of the year to release the album after all the things she's done in the past year. With ARTPOP her hip injury got in the way but now she should be ready to drop any week.
I think her AHS role will be reduced from The Countess and she won't let it interfere with music, maybe half a season. Let's not forget that she didn't start shooting until August last year, and they were halfway done by early October? That's not too bad if the album comes in July/early August, she'll be in LA which will allow her to promote, hopefully she'd be riding on the buzz of first or second single worldwide for a couple of months so she can promote internationally in later October, November and December.
And hopefully they will plan VERY far ahead to avoid any mess.
