I wish Billboard compiled an overall chart points database. It would be like the YE charts but with one difference: songs continue to accrue points after they drop off of the Hot 100.
Sorry has more longevity in the top 10 just cause its sales are spread out more evenly and it wasnt played so heavily for 2 months. Hello sold HUGE out the gates which means that its potential market got exhausted faster.
We all know which song has had the bigger impact and transcended the music charts. Hello has become a Phenomenon. Just anybody saying Hello now sparks off a reference to THAT song.
And, of course, its sold double in sales and is a YouTube monster. Hello is an all time classic. Sorry just isnt.
