I've been thinking about starting antidepressants too. I just started going to counseling this week and I'm waiting to do follow up sessions to see if they think I should try them. But, like many people have said in here, I've been told by others that they won't really help and can only do so much.
I've been dealing with this for six months and talking to a therapist about it for the first time was really helpful, I would love to start doing weekly or bi-weekly sessions but my schools counseling is full and I'm on the patient wait list. I can't go outside of school because I don't want to worry my family so I'm back to considering antidepressants.
Ultimately, if you can get one on one sessions with a therapist I think that is what you should try before considering any medications.
