She doesn't write her music, she doesnt work on the production herself. Shes not a puppet because she has control of her career business wise, but creatively shes not in there with something to say. Creatively, she is kind of a puppet. Her producers and team mold her music and sound. Imo she just has control of her image.

One Golden Globe nom back in '98. I can't think of any other acting award she's been nominated for, that wasn't a fan voted Teen Choice Award/MTV Movie Award.

Mariah did win the Breakthrough Performance Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Nothing to write home about, but she was awarded for her acting. Lets not forget she also starred in an Oscar nominated film which came with plenty of Best Ensemble Cast nominations (SAG Awards etc).

As for her last major music accolade, who cares how long it's been since she last won. At least she's a winner.



It must sting to give your all and not be recognised by the industry and your peers.
