Oh snap, what a great set! 3OH!3, Ke$ha's meaningless pop songs and P!nk, Passion Pit's well-thought out tracks balance out so this set is okay. lol <333

NG's Top 30 Joints of 2009...
Presents : Oh Sch-nap! (Part V) #36-31
36. Phoenix - 1901
- This track would have make my top 30 if I did not fall in love with so late in the year. The video is frickin' sweet. You probably might have heard this song in a couple of commercials, it's definitely one of the few good tracks of 2009. FOLD IT FOLD IT FOLD IT FOLD ITTTT!
35. Jay-Z Feat. Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind
- "Empire State of Mind"? New York City anthem, period. This song became so huge after the VMA performance and I respect Jay-Z for putting out such an anthem for New York City. However, this track is sooooo overplayed like I'm not even kidding. I think that's why it didn't make my top 30. Still an amazing song though.
34. Empire of the Sun - Standing on the Shore
- Remember, if you would wanna get far in the industry, creativity is the key. Empire of the Sun does the trick with their clip for "Standing on the Shore." Their stuff is so hot that even Jay-Z pulled the lead singer Luke Steele to collaborate in his album.
33. Ladyhawke - Dusk Till Dawn
- CATCHY. Too catchy. BANG BANG BANG on the wall, from dusk till dawn! This is another song that almost made my top 30. Ladyhawke's album is AMAZING, especially "Dusk Till Dawn." Just another great artist I've discovered this year. Thumbs up.
32. Kid Cudi - Day 'N' Nite
- Kid Cudi's Day 'N' Nite turned from one underrated song to a huge hit thanks to a little show called Entourage. The original got all the hip-hop listeners jamming non stop on Hot 97 while the remix with Crookers got the hipster kids dancing in the clubs. Kid Cudi got it all for everyone. His verse, "The lonely stoner seems to free his mind at night" is probably one of my favorite verses this year too.
31. Gossip - Heavy Cross
- Sooooo close to making my top 30. At first, I looked at Beth Ditto and I was like WTF. Scaryyyy. Little did I judge her music by her appearance. "Heavy Cross" is such a powerful track erasing all the negativity I have for Beth Ditto. This chick can sing her ass off. Truth.
EPICNESS TOP 30 TOMORROW. Stay tuned, that's all I have to say.
