Cyprus is european, the "half part" that you are talking about is occupied by the turkish troops.

I always thought that Cyprus was divided into two countries, so I thought it would be both European (Greece part) and Asian (Turkey), but I just did my research and it's a state on it's own and cyprus also takes part in the EU so it belongs to Europe.

No one but Turkey recognizes Northern Cyprus as an independent country. For the rest of the sovereign states, Northern Cyprus is a military-occupied area.

Geographically belongs to Asia and the middle east, politically to Europe. Same goes for countries like Turkey, Israel and countries in the Caucasus

I feel like politically is what matters because in the end of the day, Europe and Asia are one solid mass.

We're close to everyone This is why everyone wants a military base here. We're in the perfect geographic position. We had people attacking us for centuries, trying to take the island because of it's military purpose.

It would only make sense for Cyprus to go with Greece if it doesn't stay independent tho those countries need to stop, what's up with all those UK military bases on the island

The brittish bases Is a major reason on why the turkish troops didn't expand any further with their invasion
