I'd also like to talk about the crime bill. Marvin, I really hope you were misspeaking when you said Hillary was "solely responsible" for mass incarceration. Anyway, #UnpopularOpinion time. I don't hate the bill. My biggest problems with it are the allocation of money to build new prisons, the elimination of education in prisons and the three strikes rule. Despite some bad parts, it also had some good parts. I mean, it's main focus was
violent crimes and I don't have much sympathy for violent criminals

A big part of the bill was aimed at protecting women and being harder on domestic abusers and sexual predators. Other parts were aimed at getting assault weapons off of the streets. Many scholars have said that with crime being rampant in black neighborhoods, black citizens were practically begging for something to be done about it. Also, only FOUR senators in the entire senate voted against it. Bernie not being one of the four. And I find it HIGHLY interesting that many people who slight Hillary for this love Joe Biden, who actually WROTE the bill.
And I mean, much of this could have been avoided if, ya know, these people didn't... well... commit crimes.
