Maybe just maybe he was chosen because he's a really good actor and u need a well known one to sell a movie to the masses?

Because there's no white latino who are good at acting? They often don't even bother searching for them.

It defies me that people still don't understand that there a ton of people from Latin America who are as white as white Americans. He fits the role. End of story.
