Don't think the thread will be much successful around here, but decided to create one either way. I was just going to watch a couple of episodes today to see if I'd be into it, and ended up watching all season in one afternoon. I really liked. It's not a funny "laugh out loud" comedy though, it's very cringe-inducing.

Gus was just an asshole during the last episodes though.

I was off work and watched the whole thing. it's hilarious and realistic. i think when something can make you laugh and think at the same time

I usually like Judd Apatow stuff but this didn't appeal to me from the previews and i really dislike the actor who plays the male lead in it. Should i give it a chance anyway?

Finished up the show a couple days ago. I found it pretty funny at some points & enjoyed it for the most part, but one aspect of the show kept bothering me and that is how misoginistic is was...

I found it funny how Paul Rust, who is the writer, creator and lead actor (Gus) of the show, has two attractive women fall for him & have sex with him, gets a BJ in public AND offered a threesome, while Mickey (Gillian Jacobs), who is actually attractive, falls hopelessly in love with Gus (who is clearly not on her level). On top of that, all of her exes are ****** ex boyfriends who treat her horribly. Just really irked me & couldn't get past how unrealistic it was for Gus to have all of those women all over him when he is not a very good person and also is not attractive at all.

^ I agree with you on Gus, and that took me out of it for a bit as well, but Mickey's messed up. And because of her personal issues, I didn't actually have that hard of a time believing how or why she was attracted to those types of men.

Since the actor plays such an important role on the show, I fear you won't be able to enjoy it much. Give the first few episodes a try nevertheless. Apart from the first one, each episode is just 30 minutes long.
