Neve Campbell shades Scream franchise/her on the election.

Her shading the Scream franchise:
Quote:
...she starred in one of the most lucrative film franchises ever: Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson’s Scream, in which she played Sidney Prescott, a young woman who becomes the target of an increasingly yawnsome succession of Munchian-mask-wearing murderers.
“I’m so glad those days are over,” she says. “I felt I was being forced into being something I wasn’t – all the time.” The comedy slasher franchise dominated her career until the last money-spinning fourth instalment in 2011. Still, the 42-year-old realises that those roles paid for her current lifestyle, for her home in Brooklyn with her British-American actor partner JJ Feild and their three-year-old son, Caspian. “I’ve been very sensible with the money I made,” she says, “and I did make good money.”
Now she’s set aside such childish things. We are meeting because Campbell is back on screen this month, in the fourth season of House of Cards, the TV series about White House politicking.
Politics/the presidential election:
Quote:
House of Cards has also introduced Campbell to a new experience: being asked about her politics. “I’m a socialist,” she says. While Spacey has evaded endorsing a presidential candidate, Campbell feels less constrained. “I don’t have the responsibility for the franchise that he does, so I can speak out.” Her heart says Bernie Sanders, but her head is leaning towards Hillary Clinton. “I’m worried about how much Bernie would be able to accomplish in the White House. Hillary has been in the game long enough to know how it works. I’d hate to see Trump get in.
“I don’t know if America is ready yet for Bernie’s ideology. I am, though. My father’s Scottish, my mother is Dutch and I’m Canadian, so I’m not afraid of socialism. Americans just don’t understand how it would be possible to have free Medicare and free education.”
I hate when celebrities shade something they had done in the past. You should have thought about it back then, or should keep your mouth shut now. It makes them look pathetic.

Yeah, I kinda agree with you. I mean, the movie gave her a career. Kinda a rude comment. I get that she dislikes the genre but without those movies she wouldn't be in a Netflix series. She wouldn't be anywhere in the acting world.
She talked nothing but good things of Scream when i met her, i honestly think it was taken out of context. She's probably just tired of being put into a small box with Sidney and how she wants to be known for other roles.
I hate how anytime one of these musicians or actors says something like this everyone feels the need to crucify them for it. This is their lives, this is their work. Its their job. They don't see these things the way we do you know. I mean I love the Scream franchise, just because the lead actress got tired of playing the same role for 4 films shouldn't have any effect on it or your own interest in it. It doesn't negate anything.
Why is it called "comedy slasher" it's not comedic in anyway.
Because they mixed dark comedy and satire with horror. There were comedic elements to all of the Scream movies, more prominently the 3rd and 4th installments.

Then it should be called black comedy. The description makes people think it's Scream Queens comedy
As if any remainings of the hope I still had for an hypothetical Scream 5 were preserved, she just smashed them, microwaved them, mrs. looming-acting-in-scream2 them, crushed them and destroyed them. I'm Glad it's doing good, Neve, I'm glad it's going good.
