The other philosophy is freedom at your own risk, you can make good or bad choices. It's all up to you . If you have a laggy Android, you either bought slow hardware or a phone brand that couldn't customise Android to their phones without overloading it with bloatware or are lazy with updates, quality control and want you to feel like your phone is too old and should be replaced.

Yeah well, tell that to the Nexus phones running the best hardware and cleanest version of Android you can have yet it has endless amounts of complaints. Their newest phone has some of the worst lag reports ever. Some Android phones are being packed with 6GB of ram just to run Android at a stable rate.
android is broken at its core and rather than add to it over the years, Google need to drop it and make a new one.
Sailfish OS and Ubuntu can be installed on Android phones and the phones run light years better.
