Celeb News: Gaga and Biden lead charge to take sexual assault seriously

And so she channeled all her righteous anger, frustration, and passion into an extraordinary performance, with a grand finale that featured a whole group of sexual assault survivors, standing together in solidarity. Gaga's candid, emotional performance was a significant moment in Oscar history, but it was just as significant that she was introduced by none other than Vice President Joe Biden, who's led a charge against sexual assault in the past years - the "It's On Us" campaign.

It was a huge statement from a powerful person, followed by an incredible, defiant performance.
And even though Gaga didn't win the Oscar she made the absolute most of the night.

Her performance would have been moving in any year, but it was especially significant given the fact that this year's Oscars honored several movies that unflinchingly deal with sexual assault. Best Picture winner Spotlight told the story of the Boston Globe journalists who investigated sexual abuse within the Catholic Church. Larson won Best Actress for Room, in which she portrayed a woman trying to make a life for herself and her son inside their kidnapper's (and her rapist's) shed. And then there's Mad Max: Fury Road, George Miller's update of his Mad Max series, Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa trying to free a dictator's sex slaves than Max himself.

And Hollywood is not supposed to be the moral guardian of the girls and young women of the nation? Isn’t this like sending a Madam to guard a nunnery? Or a fox to guard a chicken coop?

By this logic Katy is a hypocrite for singing self-empowerment-anthem Roar because she's friends with Dr Luke, who as we all know emotionally abused Kesha to the point where she entered rehab.

You, I and probably Katy have almost no knowledge of what went on between Luke and Kesha. You've let your group identification influence your opinion. It's called tribalism. It's mob mentality and it's dangerous. If you weren't part of the mob you'd see that. Katy is showing courage by resisting the mob...she has a lot more to gain by following the mob

I mentioned nothing about the alleged rape, so you can miss me with this whole "join the mob" business that you've been going on about for your past 15 posts. The fact that Kesha went to rehab as a result of Luke's comments is a fact, your logic is flawed, etc etc
