I'm not surprised Gaga/TIHTY didn't win, but I am surprised basically all predictions were wrong.

To be fair though, the votes could have been close and it wasn't a far off prediction.

Campaigning is what you do to make yourself known to the voting academy. It's standard.

They especially had to campaign because most wouldn't have heard of - let alone seen - The Hunting Ground. To stand any sort of chance, they had to do what they did.
