its not about needing a MAN, its about being down on yourself and unable to recognize your true beauty until someone else brings it out of you. It could be a family member, friend, or partner. just bc for gaga its taylor, does not take away from any self empowerment songs or confidence she now has.

It's pretty damn obvious Gaga has been insecure. Everyone is. She always has said she's insecure....she's crying backstage at the beginning of her HBO Monster Ball special because she feels insecure and wants to be the strong figure for her fans to look up to. There's nothing wrong with that, she's human and she's trying.

I get what you mean but I don't think she's really giving him credit. She's pointing out the reality of the fact that going through that does have a serious effect on a person for years, but she's saying Taylor helped her to realize those feelings didn't hold as much merit as she thought. He helped her through it and helped her recovery.

Then she shouldn't pretend to be a role model and a spokesperson for rape victims.

Sorry, if I was abused I wouldn't want to hear about someone thinking they never thought they could be loved until they found a man. I agree everyone needs support and there is a difference between support and co-dependence. Self-empowerment comes from within.
