It wasn't really affected - her voice was very high on her pre-Sire/dance-pop material too.
It just deepened with age.
True Blue to
Bedtime Stories was her peak IMO, she was technically a better "vocalist" after
Evita but she could sound really haughty at times, unlike the warm tone on her previous records.
