Flashing Lights' Best of 2009 | Top 100 Songs! (Close Calls)
I hope everyone enjoyed my favorite members list. However the real bulk begins tonight. After so many delays, I've finally calculated my top 100 songs of the year. But first, here are some songs that just missed the cut:
110) Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meester - "Good Girls Go Bad"

Probably the most overrated track on ATRL of 2009. I can think of a bunch of songs that are better than this. I did enjoy this for a good minute. I'm finished with Cobra Starship, but Leighton Meester makes one appearance in the top 100.
109) Beyonce - "Diva"

The first of many appearances for Beyonce. She begins with "Diva". I liked this towards the beginning of the year, but I guess the flame died out too soon. Like I said before, this marks the first of Beyonce's many appearances.
108) Metro Station - "Seventeen Forever"

Where do I even begin to explain myself? I hated "Shake It", but there was something about this track that sucked me in late last year. It even reached #3 on my weekly chart. However, I eventually got sick of it. I'm finished with Metro Station, thankfully.
107) Ke$ha - "TiK ToK"

Who knew that a song about brushing your teeth with a bottle of jack could have been so successful? Obviously, I discovered this too late in the year, and it will definitely be higher in 2010.
106) Green Day - "Know Your Enemy"
The first single from their eighth studio album is a high paced, fun track that sure raised a lot of blood pressures this past spring. Generally, I'm not a Green Day, so it was nice seeing them release this track. Surprisingly, this won't be the last you see of Green Day.
105) Colbie Caillat - "Fallin' For You"
I completely forgot about Colbie Caillat after she released "Realize", but she came back with such a warm track that speaks about falling for someone you wouldn't normally fall for. At least I have a chance.
104) Pleasure P - Boyfriend #2

For god's sake, I hope he's innocent. I wouldn't like having a child molester on my countdown. I swear I'm going to regret this if its confirmed, but "Boyfriend #2" is a nice track speaking about.... yeah, you guessed it.
103) Mary J. Blige feat. Drake - "The One"

The first single release from Mary's ninth studio album, and it features Drake. Basically, Mary says that no one has anything on her, as she proclaims her throne as the queen of hip-hop soul. Unfortunately, this flopped, and its probably foreshadowing for her album's performance. Mary's done, but Drake has three appearances on my top 100.
102) Kid Cudi feat. Kanye West & Common - "Make Her Say"

Sampling one of the biggest songs of the year is guaranteed to give you a hit, right? Wrong. Still, this wasn't a bad try at diversifying yourself. After all, it is the Lady GaGa sample that makes this song tick. No more Common, but Kid Cudi has one more appearance, and Kanye West has five more.
101) Kristinia Debarge - "Goodbye"
Hey! Its Little Red Riding Hood! No, its "Goodbye" which just misses the top 100. As much as I hate to say it, I liked this song at one point this year. I think its absolute trash right now, but there is no erasing the past. I still find it odd that Z100 would add something out of nowhere. Desperate attempt at her label marketing her based on the famous last name, I'm assuming. I guess the money ran out since they never added her second single. Just like her relevance, no more left!
The top 100 starts tonight!
