Top 40 Albums of the Decade
Welcome back, thanks for all of the comments thus far. Very appreciated. Let's not waste anymore time and continue with my personal Top 40 Albums of this decade. We make our move closer to the top twenty with this presentation of
#30 - #21. Enjoy.
P!nk - I'm Not Dead (2006)
- P!nk makes her first and only appearance with her 2006 album
I'm Not Dead. (before I go on, sorry Missundaztood but it only possessed great singles and exceptional album tracks but not many). Anyways, this album pretty flawless. I expected a lot after the rather disappointing Try This, though that was also an okay album as well. This album featuring P!nk at one of her personal talking about our then ****** president and lost love. Can't forget the celebrity bashing debut single with that amazing video.
Top 3 Tracks:
1) Who Knew
2) Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)
3) Dear Mr. President
Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP (2000)
- Eminem drops in with
The Marshall Mathers LP, the only of his albums to make it. Still one of my favorite artists however. Just this album is cohesively amazing. Everything from the retarded skits all the way to the amazing back to back tracks. This was also one of his most violent albums with songs like "Stan", "Kill You", and the unforgettable and disturbing "Kim". Here's to Eminem continuing to make music in the new decade!
Top 3 Tracks:
1) Stan w/Dido
2) The Way I Am
3) Who Knew
Madonna - American Life (2003)
- Madonna appears for the second time, this time with her 2003 effort
American Life. Before this album was nothing to me. Just a blank in Madge's career. Thankfully I changed that and took time to listen and embrace it...and I loved it! One of Madge's most fearless album, both lyrically and productively. Features another one of my favorites of hers "Nothing Fails".
Top 3 Tracks:
1) Nothing Fails
2) Love Profusion
3) Die Another Day
Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad (2007)
- Rihanna makes her first and only appearance with her breakout album
Good Girl Gone Bad. The album featured RiRi singing catchy pop hits with some awesome beats and dance. Had it not been for Jay-Z the bitch would be back at the islands. Still can't stand that horrible Ne-Yo song, but still lovin' the one with Jay-Z. Ha!
Top 3 Tracks:
1) Question Exisiting
2) Shut Up and Drive
3) Umbrella w/Jay-Z
Ashlee Simpson - Autobiography (2004)
- Ashlee Forgettable Simpon makes her only appearance with her debut breakout
Autobiography. This girl captivated Summer of '04 with her MTV show recording this album, and I made sure I bought it the day it came! Anyways, its full of pop/rock bliss with a lot emotion, particularly her true feelings about her sis Jess. Probably one of the best debuts this decade.
Top 3 Tracks:
1) Shadow
2) Love Me For Me
3) Undiscovered
Lady GaGa - The Fame (2008)
- GaGa. Yes, in a little time she has made an appearance on my decades list. It's the first of two (OMG!) appearances on this list.
The Fame is a great album, filled with great songs, but also fillers. Which holds it back on my list a bit. It's strongpoint are the catchy club hits like "LoveGame" and "Starstruck", etc. Yeah, don't have much else to say besides good album!
Top 3 Tracks:
1) Starstruck w/Flo Rida
2) Paparazzi
3) The Fame
Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane (2002)
- The boys of Maroon 5 pop up for one appearance with
Songs About Jane, their debut. These guys are probably my favorite band out of all the contempararies. Filled with a bit of grunge attitude, emotional outpours, and even some sultry tracks. And can never forget the amazing "She Will Be Loved". Great album!
Top 3 Tracks:
1) She Will Be Loved
2) Secret
3) Harder to Breathe
Madonna - Hard Candy (2008)
- Madonna drops in with her final appearance
Hard Candy. Lots might say, oh God horrible album and too high for a Madonna album. Well forget you.

This album is practically flawless with amazing production from DANJA and Pharrell, two of my favorite producers of all time. A gangster Madonna was very exciting for the decade after her pop/dance controlling decade of albums.
Top 3 Tracks:
1) 4 Minutes w/Justin Timberlake
and Timbaland
2) Dance 2Night w/Justin Timberlake
3) Heartbreat
Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway (2004)
- Ms. Clarkson makes her only appearance with her breakout
Breakaway. This was an amazing album, filled with pop/rock glory. Radio ate it up, middle school teenagers blasted the singles all throughout the year with "Hazel Eyes" being a defining hit for Summer '05. I personally love the lyrical standpoint of the album. Very personal, yet catchy. Something many artists cannot do. Sad she hasn't produced anything as great as this yet.
Top 3 Tracks:
1) Addicted
2) Because of You
3) Since U Been Gone
Green Day - American Idiot (2004)
- Green Day drops in with
American Idiot, one of my favorite albums ever. It's pretty flawless until you get near the end and wanna turn back around. For me at least. Love the entire storyline and the story songs "Jesus of Suburbia" and "Homecoming", each holding personal favorites within. The singles were also perfectly aligned and chosen. The simply trippy "Novacaine" remains a favorite song of mine. Great album and era for the guys.
Top 3 Tracks:
1) Give Me Novacaine
2) Are We the Waiting
3) Holiday
