Although I appreciated Lady's more, for she and Bowie share a likeness, it's a shame fickle fans are using this to fuel their bitterness towards other female pop stars. How humbling for Bowie it must be, if he were alive, being tributed by the greatest performer of modern times and a future icon.

That Lorde celebrated Bowie – his mastery and stupendousness – with such a plangent yet gripping performing is beautiful. She and Lady displayed the duality of tributes, of performances and art: one a volcano of pure elation, the other subdued and honest. Beautiful.
