Copying and pasting a full article is against rules so you might want to edit the OP before you get an infraction. I'm also not sure why "millenial" is in the title when the person who wrote the article is a "millenial" herself...
Anyway... how does someone living in San Francisco or NYC survive on less than $30,000 a year? Rent for a month is close to $2000.
The woman who wrote the original letter has a valid complaint and writing an open letter to a CEO is a completely effective method considering how much attention this story is getting. It's crazy that people are being paid $15,000 to $25,000 for entry level jobs, especially when living expenses keep increasing. Wages keep decreasing while living expenses go up? Doesn't make any sense.
And I don't get how this response letter is clocking her. The response is paragraphs and paragraphs about how she worked so hard and that other people have it worse. And? Going by that logic, no one is in a position to complain about anything because there are always people in the world who have it worse. With that attitude, nothing in the world changes.
