True - but at the same time she probably figured working an entry level job at an international tech company would be a good stepping stone. Or maybe she thought after 3 months she would see a raise? Still, less than 30k is ridiculous. I feel like these companies are really exploitative to be paying workers a wage that low. They know their name has worth on resumes and that in part is why they feel they can get away with it.

Anyway... how does someone living in San Francisco or NYC survive on less than $30,000 a year? Rent for a month is close to $2000.

The woman who wrote the original letter has a valid complaint and writing an open letter to a CEO is a completely effective method considering how much attention this story is getting. It's crazy that people are being paid $15,000 to $25,000 for entry level jobs, especially when living expenses keep increasing. Wages keep decreasing while living expenses go up? Doesn't make any sense.

And I don't get how this response letter is clocking her. The response is paragraphs and paragraphs about how she worked so hard and that other people have it worse. And? Going by that logic, no one is in a position to complain about anything because there are always people in the world who have it worse. With that attitude, nothing in the world changes.

I feel bad for her and all the other people in her shoes, it's simply unfair and everyone screaming white privilege, lazy, entitled. bite me because median wages have gone down since the 80's making it harder for people to sustain a decent living oh and the minimum wage laws have completely ignored inflation which is bull****
