WELCOME TO DUCA'S TOP 20 ALBUMS OF 2009
#20 - #16
 | 20. Kiss & Tell
by Selena Gomez & The Scene
I never liked Selena and I always thought she's just a Disney kid, but on this album she shows she's grown a lot musically, especially compared to her pure pop single "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" which she recorded at sixteen and which sounds, well, let's say OK. The album is filled with teen-pop songs, the best ones being "I Won't Apologize", "I Got U" and the new version of her debut single. Love the album, though I still don't get the band thing.
MY FAVORITE TRACKS:
I Won't Apologize, Naturally, I Got U |
 | 19. Sweet 7
by Sugababes
This isn't even a real album, it's just a sampler, more like an EP with only six tracks featuring the member who's not in the group anymore, Keisha. For me, they Sugababes don't exist anymore after this. Anyway, the, let's call it "EP", is amazing and even the Sean Kingston track isn't bad. The best UK girl band went electro on this one and it's pure perfection which you can hear the best on the first (and to me their last) single "Get Sexy" and on the even better "About A Girl" too.
MY FAVORITE TRACKS:
Get Sexy, About A Girl, Thank You For The Heartbreak |
 | 18. The Fame Monster
by Lady GaGa
It was supposed to be a re-release of her debut, but it turned out to be a totally new album, and it's a good thing. A great album with the dance-pop beats that brought GaGa, ironically, to 'the fame'. One of the best songs here is "Telephone", a piece of pure electro-pop on which GaGa shines. Even though "Bad Romance" sounds a bit like "Poker Face", that's not a bad thing. Her best song to me is also here, "Alejandro" on which she shows vulnerability more than ever before.
MY FAVORITE TRACKS:
Alejandro, Monster, Telephone |
 | 17. R.O.O.T.S.
by Flo Rida
I don't know if this is a good album to most people here, but to me it is. A huge improvement from his debut on which I loved "Elevator" and "In The Ayer" and I liked a few of album tracks, but I hated "Low". This album is more pop-rap which really fits him and mixed with a bit of dance, it's makes a pretty good album, despite that awful and ridiculous cover. The first single "Right Round" is one of his best songs in my opinion, and "Sugar" is my favorite song from him.
MY FAVORITE TRACKS:
Jump, Right Round, Sugar |
 | 16. The Time Of Our Lives
by Miley Cyrus
After her pop debut, Miley decided to go a bit pop/rock on this EP, which is like a introduction to what her next album will sound like, and according to this, it will sound amazing. It still has the pop Miley is known for ("Party In The U.S.A." and "Time Of Our Lives"), but she shines with her rock voice on the "Kicking And Screaming" and proves that she can sing on ballads, especially on "When I Look At You", which should be a guilty pleasure of even the haters.
MY FAVORITE TRACKS:
Kicking And Screaming, Party In The U.S.A., When I Look At You |
