Stephen King's It Movie Will Be Rated R, Plans To Film This Year

“It will hopefully be shooting later this year,” IT film producer, Roy Lee, told Collider at DICE 2016. “We just got the California tax credit… Gary Doberman wrote the most recent draft working with Andy Muscetti, so it’s being envisioned as two movies.” He added, “We’re taking it and making the movie from the point of view of the kids, and then making another movie from the point of view of the adults.”

He went on to say that IT will be R-rated and last hurdle is making sure the script matches the budget. “We are very close to turning in the final draft of the script,” he said. “It’s mainly working on it for budgeting purposes to make it fit within the budget that we have.”
This movie doesn't need a remake. It remains the only horror movie to give me something close to a nightmare.
Trust me, it does.
The book is exponentially better than the movie which completely missed the point. It's a deep, perplexing story about small town mentality that created a monster.
