Today has been such a bittersweet rollercoaster of emotions. I was up till 5am when I first saw that Kesha had lost the injunction, at first I couldn't believe it and I just couldn't get her out of my head. After reflecting on it a bit, I think it just goes to show how ****ed up the legal system is, especially in America. I don't understand why moral judgement is never brought into consideration with these sorts of cases, its always about facts and money. All you had to do was look at the poor girl sitting in the back row sobbing her heart out to understand that this was more important to her than anything else in the world. There was absolutely NO ****ing reason why she should remain in contract with Sony, regardless of what events/abuse happened, the working relationship between the two parties is completely shattered because of this, and by Sony saying they only want whats best for her makes me sick to my stomach. I hope the judge is at home reading all the support and love for Kesha and all the people pointing out what was so wrong in this case and I hope no matter what ends up happening the Case of Kesha Rose goes down in history how capitol greed and misogyny still runs the world.
I am also overwhelmed at how much publicity this has gotten and how much love Kesha has received since the news broke, it is worldwide headlines news (people are talking about her as if she had died), it is so great to see and I hope Kesha actually understands how much love there is for her out there. I hope on the other hand Sony feels the pressure by the media and all the support to make a change. Its obvious they aren't going to release from her contract, however I hope sometime in the near future both parties (minus Luke) can sit down and renegotiate a few things on the contract to ensure the best possible success for both Kesha and Sony and for Kesha to be able to record and perform without feeling threatened or in danger. Unfortunately I think the world is too cruel and they will just lock her in a contract limbo until all of this has died down and she is forgotten.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and that picture of Kesha in the courtroom literally broke my heart into a million pieces. I can speak for all of us when I say we all saw something in her that the rest of the didn't (until recent years). We have all watched her grow, improve, mature and embraced the qualities of life that she preaches. She is one of the only artists in recent history that has never had a bad word said about her by anyone, not fellow celebrities, not unimpressed fans. She was the most genuine, carefree spirit and disgustingly underrated musician. From the bottom of my heart I love you dearly Kesha Rose, it sounds stupid but thank you for giving me the courage of being myself growing and not giving a ****.
