On my first day of working as a waiter without any training given to me, the owner yelled at me for not knowing what to do like every 20 minutes At first he told me that when I set the tables after cleaning up after a customer, I needed to get cutlery in the kitchen part of the restaurant but midway through my shift when I was done cleaning up a table and going to get cutlery from the kitchen, he yelled at me for going into the kitchen because only the chefs were meant to be in there Like, what was I meant to do?? He wants me to set a table but I'm not allowed to get cutlery

No. For some reason all my bosses were slightly intimidated by me.
I have a very stoic personality.

I left my last job because my manager was manipulative and rude. I used to work in Coles, which is basically the Australian equivalent of Safeway.
Basically my last department manager left and my new deparment manager (let's call him Johan) started right as I was headed into my exam week. He rang me and asked what days I could work the next week and I told him I could work any day, but I have an exam on Saturday and so I'll need a few days off to study and get ready for my exam. On my next shift (a Friday) he gives me my roster and he has me rostered on every ****ing day. I was mad af but because he was a new manager I figured I may as well power through it just so I'm in good standings with him.
My next shift (Monday) I told Johan I couldn't work on the Saturday because of my exam and he says "yeah write a note and leave it in my office" so I did. On that same shift he asked me to stay a back a few hours, I said "sure but I have to be out of here by 2pm so I can pick up my siblings from school". He said it was no problem so I continued working. An hour later he asks if I can stay back until 4, to which I said no because I need to pick up my siblings from school. He said he really needed someone to be on and I kept refusing to the point where he looked me dead in the eye and said "It's more convenient for me if you stay back until 4". At that point I figured that he must have been really desperate and so I agreed to help out. I called my dad and told him the situation to which he says "your new manager is an asshole" [sic].
My next shift (Tuesday) in I look at the roster and see he still hasn't fixed the issue of my shift on Saturday which clashed with my exam. He tells me to write a note on the roster, which I do. During this shift I have a chat with my co-worker who started her job at the same time as me - we did our inductions and training together and we had a lot of shifts together (let's call her Rachel). She tells me that she's not particularly fond of the new manager but at the same time she acknowledges that he's probably still trying to find his place in the team so she tells me we should probably give him a chance before writing him off. Later on in my shift I go on my break and I go across the street for coffee. I get a text from Johan asking me if I can work today to which I respond "I've been at work for the past 4 hours, I'm now on my break". I go home and a few hours later I get a text from Johan asking if I can work from 6pm-11pm (I had already worked 6am-3pm the same day) to which I respond "I can't, I already worked 6am-3pm today and I'm rostered on for 6am-12pm tomorrow, I won't be able to get home in time to get enough sleep". He replies "just do it plz" [sic]. I text "no" and he replies "ok".
The next day (Wednesday) at work I see Rachel who's told me that Johan took her out to coffee under the pretense of "getting to know her" and asked her questions like what she usually does outside of work and if she had any family in the city. She also says Johan told her she'll try and give her the same number of shifts that she had under our old manager, but because she's a girl there's less things for her to do so he'll be focusing more on giving shifts to the boys. My feminism alarm went off and I told her that it's a really shady and misogynistic thing to say, but she brushes it off as a "cultural difference" (at this point I wanted to smack her but I left it at a disapproving look). I also look at the roster and I see that my shift/exam clash STILL hasn't been sorted so I speak to Johan personally to tell him that I can't work on the Saturday because I have an exam at 12pm. He tells me "Your shift is from 6am-10pm and your exam is at 12, there's no reason why you can't do the shift". I tell him I need to be prepared for my exam and working that same morning will interfere with that. He sighs and gives me an "okay".
On the Thursday I speak to Rachel again, who tells me she saw that I had heaps of hours on the roster, and knowing that I was a student in the middle of exams, she told Johan that I was a student and that I wouldn't be able to handle having that many hours (this is why I love her even though she brushed off misogyny as a cultural difference). She tells me she's worried I'll be upset because I might interpret it as her trying to steal my hours but I tell her that I'm thankful she did it because it was really a big issue that he kept ignoring. Johan comes up to me later and asks me if I'm on a student visa because if I am it means he can't roster me on for more than 20 hours a week. I tell him I'm a citizen, and he tells me "good, I was worried I might get in trouble for rostering you on for more than 20 hours". Right as he walks away I turn to Rachel and fume that upon hearing I was a student, his mental process was to make sure he didn't get himself into any legal trouble, rather than processing the fact that I'm a student and need time to ****ing study for my exams.
I call in sick on the Friday because 1 - I'm sick of his **** by this stage, 2 - I have another job interview for David Jones (Australian equivalent of Selfridges/Harrods/Macys/Nordstrom) and 3 - I actually need to ****ing study for this exam.
On the Saturday I go to my exam, and as soon as it finishes I get a call from my workmate (let's call this one Jacob) who asks where I am. I tell him "I ****ing knew this **** would happen I have been telling him this WHOLE WEEK that I can't work today because I have an exam today and every time he told me he would take care of it" [sic]. I'm close with Jacob so he half-laughs and tells me that he'll take care of it. At this point I'm so sick of it that I draft my resignation letter because even if I don't get that new job I can't handle working with Johan anymore.
Monday back at work and I'm fuming to one of the other department managers about what happened and they tell me "yeah, nobody likes him, he's a twat" [sic]. Later this day I get a call from the interview and they offer me the job, and I hand my resignation letter to my manager (I gave them two days notice because the store manager was good to me so I figured I owed a few days notice to him even though I'm only legally required to give an hour of notice). He tells me to put the letter on his office so I do.
On the Tuesday I start telling my workmates that I'm leaving. My other workmates tell me to run and that they're looking for other work too because this new manager is scum [sic]. The store manager and HR manager overhear and tell me that they're surprised because that was the first time they had heard of it. Sure enough, I go into Johan's office to see my resignation letter in the same place I left it, completely unopened, even though he had at least 8 hours to open and read the letter the previous day. I take the letter and hand it to the store manager and explain the situation to which he agrees diplomatically (in a way that says "i understand your position" without undermining my manager's authority).
Wednesday is my last day, and my shift starts as my manager is finishing for the day. He still doesn't know I've resigned at this point because as he's leaving he says "see you tomorrow" (I was rostered on the entire week again). My entire shift is kinda bittersweet because on one hand I'm gonna miss all my workmates but on the other hand everyone's telling me to get the **** out because they all know this new manager is a dick. I tell them I'll come in to visit every now and then and they say they'll visit me too (I know they were all lying but it's the thought that counts).
That Sunday I get a text from Johan asking if I can work that day, which I find funny and don't respond to.
Fast forward to now, I'm working at David Jones, I love my job, I love the people I work with and my manager and I are on such good terms that I can text her "hey, could you tell me what my roster is for next week?" and she'll reply "sure thing, i'm just excreting at the moment but i'll tell you as soon as i'm done lol".

Yes but it was when I worked in an amusement park so i hardly had any interaction with him, the only conversation that i had with him was good, but i witnessed a lot of his outbursts towards other employees.
My last boss was one of the nicest people that ive ever met, he was great. My current boss is nice too.
