Be happy for her, realise that the award is devalued greatly and there is must be shade in it.
Because it's a political club. If they see someone as too successful, influential or acclaimed in every sense of the word, the committee and voters feel pressed like they could never match that and they have only 1 card to stop someone or a band to reach total victory/domination. The counter-voting can stop someone or a band from getting that award.
They can give a pity award when they feel like the great menace isn't a problem anymore. Either the success collapsed or the girl became old and wrinkly, no longer a threat when the girls of next decade and the decade after that are taking over.
