Let me simplify it. We will use Mark, Brian and Kevin for example

Mark is the guy that Brian has always dreamed about. However, Mark doesn't want to date. He only wants to have fun. Kevin wants to date and he really likes Brian but Brian doesn't like Kevin in the slightest.


That's what it means. You can find the guy who you think is the most beautiful man on the planet, he shares the same ideals as you do and his life plan fits perfectly with yours. However, he isn't ready to settle down or if he is, he doesn't want you for whatever reason. You can also not want the guy who's tripping over himself to get your attention.


And another point my post made was that guys on Grindr who are soooo about the dates and romance, I've found to be a little clingy and creepy. I cannot tell you how many times I've messaged a guy who "didn't want to hook up, dates and love only" and he would be like "hey! How are you?? When did you want to go to dinner? I saw that you were online until 4 am last night. Did you have fun? What's going on? Btw I found you on Facebook and I wanted to know if I could add you as a friend? Let's meet up for lunch! I think you're really cute."

As for how you talk on these apps, you really just have to do the best you can. There are a lot who don't know to communicate. That's one of the things that drove me away from Grindr. For somebody as long winded as I am, it was just infuriating to be hit back with one word answers.
