Does anybody know how high chances are of catching HIV by receiving oral sex when the partner was bleeding out of the mouth? i've been reading through tons of websites. some call it a high risk and some are saying that saliva contains different enzymes and proteins that inhibit HIV transmission but still.

Any meds or med students, nurses on here?

i am educated and informed on HIV. The chances of catching it through oral sex are really really low but this is kind of a special case

If there is an open wound in the mouth (cut, sore) it can be transmitted. If the giver is + it can be transmitted through the urethra.

I'm not sure about HIV but i'm pretty sure you can get cancer from that.

If you bleed when you brush your teeth then yes you are at risk

The risk is very very very low. Get tested in 6 weeks, you should be fine. Just try to relax
