I mean. I don't mean this against gaga, and in no way am I denying she was raped, but in the same way Beyoncé sells feminism (and Taylor tried/tries to), Gaga was/did sold/is selling/ is using rape for profit (image or money wise) with the DWUW and this song.
It's important to bring up a cause. I just don't think it should've been done after the scrapped DWUW video. If she created this song and DWUW never existed, I don't think anyone would be doubting it whatsoever. I don't think it's just Madonna stans either tho scandal.

I see what you're saying - though I think it's unfair to judge any artist, or person really, based on something that was going to happen but they decided not do, for a reason. I don't feel we're in a position to trash Gaga because of the DWUW video. Sure, she created it - but she pulled it, for good reason. If someone told you they were once very upset/angry/etc. and seriously wanted to murder someone but ultimately did not, would you brand them a murderer, or even a supporter of murder and crimes? And further, if they later on objected the murder or death of somebody else - are they to be branded a hypocrite? I don't think so. Because we all think things or plan to do things that we ultimately realise are unacceptable or wrong. Ultimately, we should only be judged by what we do and put forth into the world. The DWUW video, for obvious reasons, was never put forth into the world. This doesn't discredit any of Gaga's activism in the past year.
Kesha's case is incredibly unfortunate. I also think it's not necessarily the right thing to do to drag Gaga into this (though this specifically isn't really doing it, her mum actually said that Dr. Luke had raped Gaga too, despite them never being in a room together). Sexual assault is, I imagine, a terribly traumatic experience. To go through that is terrible. For someone to go through that, sit on the knowledge for a decade or so, finally release a song highlighting the issues after originally stating she didn't want to and then become this golden standard for how people view rape or be expected to contribute to the conversation any further is unrealistic. Gaga, a victim like Kesha, has the right to deal with her own experiences however she feels. When I was younger this girl (girl 1) at school had an eating disorder. Her parents found out and when they were confronting her (as apparently they were heavy-handed and traditional, etc.) Girl 1 said that another girl did too and that this is where it stemmed from. Girl 1's parents called Girl's 2 parents, who didn't actually know about the incidence of eating disorder that Girl 2 had, for all intents and purposes, began to squash for good. It brought up this whole big case and caused huge drama. Girl 1 was having a tough time, as was Girl 2. Both being on an equal playing field, it wasn't really right of Girl 1 to aggravate Girl 2's recovery and situation by bringing her into a new mess, right? I feel the same about this.
Wishing Kesha and her family the best of luck in upcoming hearings.
