I've been investigating everything about Disney recently, and i can't believe how culturally relevant this company is. The impact goes way beyond Mickey Mouse, the Disney princesses and Disney Channel

Nah, there are many other iconic movies and products than those made by Disney.

I would say Microsoft is the most iconic company of our time, Apple being second in line.

What about Coke?

Tbh you have a point sis. McDonald's and other elements of popculture should be counted too. Coke created the image of Santa Claus which entered the Western culture and McDonald's is accessible nearly worldwide.

Barbie would also give Disney run for it's money.

In terms cultural impact Ninento is far more influential.

Disney is inarguably the biggest company in the world. They own everyone and everything.

Even beyond the fact that they now own Star Wars and Marvel, they also have Pixar, Touchstone, etc. There are so many films made by Disney that people never even realize are Disney films because they use the Touchstone or Lake Buena Vista names instead (ie. Best Picture nominee Bridge of Spies is actually Disney). Not to mention that Disney literally invented the animated full length film.

They've got ABC and ESPN, plus part of the History + Discovery channels. They own Hyperion book publishers (Percy Jackson, etc) and, as we all know, Hollywood Records. Disney is all over Broadway, and obviously has the top tourist destinations in the world with their theme parks.

And then they have partnerships with all of the other big brands; Coke, McDonalds, Starbucks, credit card companies, car companies, etc.

They have all that yet still cant touch Apple or Exxon's market cap.

Apple still remains biggest company since Microsoft.

S/he wasn't talking about marketing/money-making, but cultural relevancy and impact. EXXON is an oil-company, how is that really impactful in terms of culture? Yes, oil is necessary for many things, but do you get what I mean?

Disney is ONE of the top tourist destinations, not THE top tourist destination, though. (If I'm not mistaken, it has been Paris for years now).
