I was thinking about the Samsung deal Rih signed. Samsung paid 25 million for a 1 million copies of ANTi, which equals to $25 that Samsung paid for each copy of ANTi.

Lets assume that over a 2 1/2 year period that Rih sold 1 million copies of ANTi the usual way...say 700k for the standard at $12 dollars a pop and 300k for the deluxe at $16 a pop.
That =

$8,400,000 for the standard &
$4,800,000 for the deluxe
-----------------
$13,200,000 which is a high end total, assuming no discounts of the album.

Child, they didn't pay $25M for 1M copies. They paid $25M for several promotional rights (ranging from tour sponship, the AntiDiary, the free copies, whatever else they have in store). The 1M copies were probably sold at a bulk rate too.

The 1M copies sold to Samsung was smart in the sense whatever investment they poured into the album was probably salvaged in that transaction.

It still equals to $25 per each album that Samsung paid for...why you tryin' to spin it? It's the music that Samsung wanted.

and nice try w/ the revenue scenario...but hasn't the album already been put up for sale @ $5.99?? and the physicals were already being put on discount in their first week.
