There is a such thing of being more mainstream than the other and Drake is way more mainstream than Kendrick. The fact that Drake actually has hits on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 while Kendrick doesn't have any except for Bad Blood because of Taylor Swift. That like saying Lana Del Rey on the same level with Rihanna when it come to mainstream which we all know that ain't the case. Big Krit also been reviewed by mainstream publications for his album Cadillactica but he ass ain't mainstream at all. Billboard 200 also doesn't mean nothing because their a lot of artist who isn't mainstream who charted on that chart such as Big Krit himself. Because you was nominated for a Grammy doesn't mean you're mainstream either because Beck, Maxwell and Norah Jones is all Grammy award winning artists but they not mainstream at all.
Logic doesn't have songs on the mainstream radio, so he ain't mainstream sorry.

Get that hit thread!
Lmao. Under pressure was sent to Rhythmic radio and was played repeatedly by Sirius XMs The Heat. While both of us can agree that Drake and Eminem are more pop/crossover than Kendrick, Kendrick is still mainstream. And great example with Lana. When she began performing as Lizzy Grant, she was indie and the world was not aware of her. When she signed that Interscope deal, changed her name to Lana Del Rey, Video Games blew up, and she performed on SNL, she became to blueprint on how to stay independent musically, but with major label backing. She now sells millions of copies around the world, and has become the blueprint for bubbling up through social media to achieve mainstream consciousness. If you ask a random person on the street who Lana Del Rey or Kendrick are, there is a great chance they can tell you.
Maxwell is an interesting situation. Well-known in the music world with Grammys and a Columbia Records deal, with several albums debuting with over 300K copies sold in the US in the first week, he never had that quintessential single that put him on the map. He is known for cohesive, and instrumentally-rich albums, but THAT single has not happened yet (unless you count Pretty Wings). He was a part of the neo-soul resurgence with D'Angelo, Lauryn Hill, India Arie, and Jill Scott, but didn't reach the level of mainstream knowledge of the other artists.
Beck? Lol? Just no. He did not become mainstream until just recently with the Beyonce-album situation and the Pop airplay of Dreams earlier this year. Did you see all of those, "Who Is Beck?" Articles that came out after the Grammys? That proves the mainstream didn't know him.
Lastly, Norah Jones is a special case because if you asked most people between 2002-2006 they could tell you who Norah Jones was because her album was a Bonafide SMASH. She has fallen off recently, but still has minimal mainstream recognition.
