For me it has more to do with expressing yourself without limits, pushing the envelope... not just "look good" or "decent". Fashion reflects an idea, a feeling...

While I don't think Lady GaGa is the savior of the fashion world, I have to question this statement. What is "pushing the envelope" to you, then? Wearing boring clothes that fit in with what everyone else is wearing?

what i mean is that it looks like she wears costumes
all the time and i don't think that is pushing the envelope because
anybody can play dress up and wear halloween costumes,i think
being a fashion icon is pushing the envelope without looking
like you're trying too hard!
Oh PLEASE!!! GaGa would not be "who" she is without Vogue. If anything, Rihanna is far more of a fashion symbol than her. GaGa is just snatching the latest duds on the runway and making it "fashionable" because she happens to be known by the masses. What she's wearing is called 'avant garde' for a reason - it's for the people who understand it!
