She hasn't had an exceptionally well selling album since 2008 and even then, it was even for the times. Her recent music is stuck on Urban radio which doesn't have the reach that mainstream pop does. I couldn't sing along to any of the songs off her last two albums. I know parts of Love On Top and Best Thing I Never Had due to me watching music video tv during their release.

Expanding on my point, while she gets attention for her music, she doesn't get attention because of the music. Beyonce the album got 99.99% of its attention due to the surprise release and being filled with music videos and containing a few phrases which infiltrated the popular vernacular. I would expect such a loved and popular artist to get airplay on mainstream pop and AC/Hot AC radio and have more hits in the top 10.

I believe that she, while always being famous and known for her talent and beauty, has somehow managed to forgo that in the last 5 years years. For some reason, her celebrity has increased despite her musical relevance decreasing. She tours very well though. I just don't see her as the much loved person that the media tells us that she is. That's going off what I hear from people in everyday life. Maybe it's just certain parts of the country. I don't know
