DMX found lying ‘lifeless’ in Yonkers hotel

YONKERS, New York – Rapper DMX is recovering after first responders found the rapper's lifeless body in a hotel parking lot Monday night and managed to revive him.
DMX, whose legal name is Earl Simmons, stopped breathing during the apparent collapse, attorney Murray Richman confirmed. Richman told PIX11 he believed Simmons might have suffered an asthma attack. He wouldn't comment on whether or not drugs might have been involved. The manager of the Ramada confirmed that Simmons wasn't breathing before first responders arrived just before 6:30 p.m.
Police Detective Lt. Patrick McCormack wouldn't identify the person they resuscitated, saying only that it was a 45-year-old Mount Kisco resident who wasn't breathing and had no pulse when Yonkers police and Empress Ambulance personnel arrived.
First responders gave the man an opiate reversal medication at the scene, McCormack said. Officers managed to resuscitate him using CPR and oxygen before paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital.
DMX was released Tuesday morning. A black SUV could be seen pulling up to Simmons' Mount Kisco home Tuesday, but it wasn't immediately clear if the rapper was inside.
He has a concert scheduled for Saturday in Reading. DMX's attorney says the rapper is still planning on performing.
