I just don't get why they're keeping guest access open before the update. Registration won't open before then, so it's not like they'll be losing out on potential new members. And the main purpose of the guests is probably additional ad revenue, but that's completely cancelled out by the fact that the server slows down so much that people are loading less pages than they normally can and therefore the ads are getting less views. So there's NO point in having guest access open right now. It's so dumb.

Yes sis, but they lurk on atrl because it's an entertaining site and they have the desire to join and they want to look up information about their fave etc. I've been a guest for some time before I joined and that's what I did so I don't blame them.

I'm not blaming them at all - I'm blaming ATRL for allowing them access. Yes, it would suck for the guests if guest access was closed for a long period of time, but right now it sucks for the members when it's open, so I don't see how that's any better. Not to mention the fact that the ATRL+ members actually pay money to use this site.

It's always been like this though. We had the OCs in 2013, server problems again in 2014 and 522's in 2015 and the latter 2 still continue today. They can't block them forever.

I agree about the ATRL+ members though. I understood that back when the OCs still were a thing, the ATRL+ subscribers didn't get them anymore after a time, which should be the right thing to do. I have been an ATRL+ subscriber too (after the OCs), but I had not experienced any improvement. Sad.

This is a mess.

Let's not forget the great Google Blacklisting of 2015 either and ATRL's bilingual "un momento" period.
