These police officers are a mess. I don't think this has anything to do with him being transgender; the police just don't know how to do their job.

Don't they train them to defend themselves from stuff like this? Don't they wear vests? There was literally no reason to shoot him. Rest in peace.

Basically. I've heard SO MANY STORIES that are literally the exact same as this (police called because someone is threatening to kill themself, police shoot + kill the person) Like, I kid you not, I've heard at least 10, and they barely get media attention. I know one cop has been involved with mutliple shootings like this as well and keeps getting put on them cause it said as much in an article.

This is also the reason I'm not 100% convinced the black police shootings are specifically race-inspired. I think there's something VERY wrong with police training in America because they are VERY MUCH on a shoot-first basis, even with white people.

You'd be truly surprised how often this happens. The worst thing is the cops never end up with more than a slap on the wrist despite this BLATANTLY being excessive force. But this is 100% the reason why I will never call the cops if I know anyone contemplating suicide ever. I've got a better chance of talking them down. F***, you've got a better chance calling an ambulance AFTER they've made the attempt
