for those of you who don't get it, it's implying that those with Xy chromosomes are automatically male. I mean biologically that's the case, but when you add trans people into the mix, a hard and fast rule like this could be seen as exclusionary. I mean, Caitlyn Jenner has Xy chromosomes for example.
i had the Xx Xy thing mixed up the same way many others did because i was misled by the obvious visual cue and I haven't taken biology class for a decade, but the exact same point still stands. please don't be pedantic.
These chromosomes refer to biological sex, not gender identity. Regardless of how people identify themselves, they are born either XX or XY. But I think there might be some exceptions
