for those of you who don't get it, it's implying that those with Xy chromosomes are automatically male. I mean biologically that's the case, but when you add trans people into the mix, a hard and fast rule like this could be seen as exclusionary. I mean, Caitlyn Jenner has Xy chromosomes for example.
No, they were obviously just trying to do something creative.
It's only about 97-99% accurate though, as it's possible for a woman to have XY chromosomes or a man to have XX chromosomes.
Edit: I'm stupid. I meant it's possible for Women to have one X. Though XY may also be possible but I highly doubt it, I would have to further research.
You're right. But the Y chromosome isn't actually shaped like the letter Y, it looks like a smaller version of the X chromosome. So I guess they were trying to be accurate, which makes the sign confusing.
