But all those downloads, streams and YouTube videos came from some part of America right?
They definitely do. I'm just saying that based on my personal experiences, it does not feel like a #1 song to me. I legitimately have not heard it brought up once this week.
I think Nelly's remake of "Die A Happy Man" could cause crossover problems for Thomas Rhett, unless they can make a collaboration remix. Nelly's version stays true to the lyrics, notes, and melody. Nelly has scored hits with Tim McGraw and Florida-Georgia Line, so maybe he and Rhett can mix their versions to gain crossover success. I don't know when or where Nelly's version will debut on the Hot 100 (it's right around Rhett's version on ITunes but no streaming & airplay yet), but this Rolling Stone article includes a link to the song. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...y-man-20160205

Radio is on board with it, though.
But I get what you mean though. First of all the song is not groundbreaking Ala Sorry that makes someone discuss about it actively. Nor is it hugely (rather medium) pop radio supported and no rhythmic support. And he is liked by all teenage people esp girls. I'm sure the ratio is 9:1 girl boy for downloads
Thinking Out Loud seemed more like a #1 than every #1 in 2015 except Uptown Funk, See You Again, and Hello. TOL would've kept the other #1s at #2, but that's the way the Hot 100 chart works. Sorry could've wound up in the same situation had Hello not slowed down so much due to 25's runaway success.

Honestly surprised JB hasn't announced the 4th official single yet.
The era has been huge for him. The success of the next single will just be added bonus. Crazy how WDYM is already about 6 months old almost
Can't wait to see how WWWY continues to do
It's way to soon to announce a 4th single. The era started in August, it hasn't even been 6 months. A fourth single should be announced and pushed once LY has atleast peaked, better yet is in the bottom-half of the Top 10 to leave in a few weeks, not #1.
The article expresses Nelly's increasing interest in Country music. I'm not putting him in the same category with Darius Rucker (who is great) or the new Black female Country artist Mickey Guyton (also outstanding, hear her sing), but Nelly can sing pretty well, and if he goes down this route his Urban/Country mix could work on Country radio right now. We'll see. I really hopes he remixes and collabs with Rhett so DAHM can be a blockbuster hit for both of them.
