duca, can you please make a table comparing Stay, Diamonds, FFS and HB's peaks so they can shut up?
We don't need worldwide peaks. We're talking about who was bigger in the US.
"Hotline Bling" outpeaked "FourFiveSeconds" and "Stay" and would have been #1 longer than "Diamonds" if it hadn't been blocked by the biggest single of the year.
Hotline Bling was a genuine hit though. Y'all who live outside of the land where Rihtired is the only black person in entertainment should know better. Either you don't go out or you don't have any straight friends.
That said, its viral meme presence far surpasses its actual popularity.
can we even call HB a urban/hiphop song? It's very much a pop song
It is pop. Just that since it's by a black artist it's urban, if it was by Rih the hive and FAME would have set it right but then again they still convince themselves that Beyoncé and Christine are still R&B.
That thread was made for a trolling purpose in response to Krapty Kat's thread about Gaga losing in that 'the GP poll'. The monsters flooded the poll and now she's winning.
Doing too much
I didn't even see the "Gaga losing against gp poll" thread until 5 minutes ago when it was pointed out
Please keep in mind that most users are not from the U.S. so stop being xenophobic by talking about your local hits.
If we have to sit here in SYG and listen to a bunch of flaming bottom Europeans go on for hours on end about which has-been UK pop girl group made the best "b0ps" when y'all were in middle school, which happens quite often, then you can handle this.
