It'll continue for a while. I don't actively participate in the Katy vs Gaga feuds anymore but it's not like feuds between pop stars ever die down, regardless of whether there's validity/freshness to it. See Demi vs Selena and Britney vs Xtina respectively. If you find it boring and unnecessary then...don't participate in them?
There are stan wars from the 60's/70's still going on. They never die. Katy vs. Gaga is the only legit feud to emerge in the 2010's and has provided too many kiis (and hurt feelings on both sides) to die out any time soon. I mean, fans can choose to ignore it, but some will always crack jokes or try to put the other star down.
